"for officers who might not have access to television, radio, newspapers, smart phones or the Internet."

Because heaven fucking forbid the PPB give important situational information to their officers when clearly the officers should just be told to just go fucking Google it for themselves.
2
Why does the PPD want to take enforcement action against thoughtful people seeking public office!
3
Shut it down. Just shut Last Thursday down now, forever.

@What's the PPD?
5
Always nice to have you along, Graham!

Graham:

My mistake. Its a bureau, not a department. Still, my point that the Portland Police should not take enforcement action against pensive political prospects stands!

I love it when Graham's in a bad mood.

Last Thursdays are the best nights of the year to drive shit-faced drunk with no chance of being cited -- anywhere in Portland -- since most of the cops are breaking up fights etc on Alberta.

Let's see - they send the Rapid Response Team to club and pepper-spray Occupy protesters, yet are told to use "mere presence" against drunk, disorderly, and potentially violent people causing trouble at an event popular with yuppies and the chattering class of Portland.

I agree with ytregaws. Shut down Last Thursday, or start arresting people for open container, minor in possession, and break up fights and unruly mobs with pepper spray and the Rapid Response Team. Pretend Last Thursday is an Occupy event.

Please wait...
