John Oliver is a better, funnier host.

FACT.

I kind of agree. John Oliver has a sort of humility that doesn't seem forced and fake like how Stewart comes off. Also, Jon Stewart makes 30 million dollars a year. Wat?

Oliver is perfectly funny, smart and poignant and does it with ease, without being ham-handed or simply, a ham. Listening to his podcast The Bugle raises the bar on humorous political discourse. It's a select group. Colbert. Dana Gould. I'd put Portland's own show from Mr. Roberts and Mr. Weber in that category, too. Stewart has his great moments. But you're right Spindles, often it's forced and tired.

As like-minded as I am, I see Stewart as an outlet for the self-important and humorless to briefly feel like they are less so (even though they are not).
