Besides all the other problems with this deal, it's 2014 and retail is dead. It's not the recession. The need for stores for is small and shrinking all the time. Big box and online won.

Can anyone show me how a destination store like Trader Joes will lead to more foot traffic than the other stores (SAFEWAYSTARBUCKSWALGREENS) in nearby do? Answer, no.

No one is going to be going to Old Town Pizza to eat a $25 pie, while their TJ $4.99 version is thawing out in their shopping bad. Stupid.
