They dropped tracking force against transients to list canine captures? (Is that captures BY or OF?) They couldn't even find a human interactions stat to swap in?

Please don't just be mollified by Sgt. Simpson's answer. They can break out the grey-area cases or won't-give-an-address as a separate number. There can still be a count of force used against illegal campers, people sleeping in vehicles, and known homeless people. There's also a question in my mind of whether the grey area folks are treated differently, so don't just bury that number.....

The next report, for April, May, and June, comes out this summer. It's an easy promise that I'll be checking back in to see whether those details have been added.

I really appreciate that you're keeping an eye on this stuff.

'Trips to detox,' may well be extra-judicial detention without trial.
We've just contributed a Federal investigators' observations on use of force, to the Police Community Relations Committee, who may consider finally implementing a 2009 Plan to Address Racial Profiling. Apparently, computer problems held up data collection five years ago.

Without stats, PPB inoculates itself from intervention. It's a complex matter, to get the City to track actionable data. Commissioners foist this on CPRC, where cops on overtime hold sway. (Perhaps three non-compensated community members formed a minority at the June meeting, where we submitted the following testimony. Perhaps two of those used to work for the City.)
