Were you too intimidated by your barista to ask what was playing?

That's not it, PDXwahine. I'm almost positive one lyric was: "Nevada! Silver and sagebrush, Nevada!" This is terrible.

I wasn't intimidated. I just assumed, in this day and age, it would be easily identifiable, which is why I took specific care to note that "silver and sagebrush" line.

Are you absolutely sure it wasn't 'Home Means Nevada'?

GUYS! I called the coffee shop. They confirmed the song exists, and that it's catchy. Then Denis found it. It's Riders in the Sky's "Nevada." Here's the album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rb3y8cS30a…

There was a Centurylink person at my door a few months ago talking about this new super-fast internet deal. HOWEVER, the individual in question appeared to be slightly drunk and had the details scribbled on a folded up piece of coffee-stained printer paper so I did not pay them much mind. True story.

As usual there is so little competition for broadband in this country that the only time things seem to improve at all is when google comes in to disrupt things. I wish some reporter would ask how many places that Google Fiber isn't slated to come to are getting gigabit service from Century link in the next year. My guess: 0.
