Keeping the public informed on police reform is not something that should be subject to Hales' budget cuts.

The fact that it's a "weak deal" is what encourages the City to challenge it. The Federal government is the culprit here in the first place, by militarizing local police forces. They don't want close scrutiny any more than the City does. The whole thing is a political canard.

Withhold all Federal income tax and don't pay any local taxes, either. The Federal government can't send funds for military training and weapons to Portland if we don't send them tax dollars to begin with.
