fucking hipsters

Hi it's the 17 year old person who some think their full of shit. You know what I just realized? They way I wrote my complaint is a little distorted. People don't accuse ME of being a hipster or anything. I was just saying that it's unfair to have such disgust towards them when we all go through, most unfortunately, that confusing and awkward stage in life.

Ou est l'accusation?

FAKE... However, true... But if your not a fake... Here you go... Your mommy, daddy, friends, and even me... DONT KNOW SHIT, WE ARE WAITING TO DIE, AND HOPE IT DOES NOT SUCK, That's it. End of story, throw glitter on it, put on a bow tie and slap a bitch. Enjoy your life child, it is short and potentially fun-ish. Just ask Damosa.

I sort of assume that the vitriol aimed at hipsters isn't due to their being confused youngsters trying to find their way in life or something like that.

No, I think the animosity is a product of the (probably accurate) perception that hipsters organize their lives around the accumulation and exchange of social currency gained by the presumption of superiority in matters aesthetic, coupled with a dose of arrogant condescension for people who don't think/act like they do, and who don't value the same things. Sound familiar?

It's irritating to most people when someone claims to know more than everyone else, and then subsequently judges everyone for that perceived lack of knowledge. What makes it worse is that hipsters base this self-aggrandizement on some of the LEAST IMPORTANT things in this world, such as obscure musical groups, pop art, and cast-off cultural detritus.

Really, the problem with the hipster isn't one confusion, at least not in the way anon describes it, but one of EXISTENTIAL confusion. When faced with the question of existence, and what to do with it, the hipster would seemingly prefer to spend his/her time immersed in matters involving games of social posturing and fetishization of cultural objects rather than something more productive, like being an engaged and responsible citizen.

Then again, I just wasted five minutes typing and posting this, so what does that say about me?

"I am 17 years old..."
"And STILL, after years..."

Hey it's that 17 year old again. I don't think I really deserve that whole spiel of "You're only 17, what the fuck do YOU know." Now, considering that a lot of you already obtain this hipster image about me, what I say will sound, as the poll states, full of shit. Firstly, just because I am 17, it does not imply that there haven't been any struggles in my life. It actually all began when I was about 5 when, after a horrific dispute, my father told his four children that he would always love and support his wife over them. Now I know there are worst things a father can do, trust me, I know a person (and more) who have been subjected to sexual abuse by a father and two brothers, at the ages of 10 and 13. OH WAIT. She's just hit puberty, what the fuck does she know right??? I'm honestly just weary of judgement. It's what I've been listening to for too long now, and even if it doesn't change anything, I feel that at least trying to explain my views is something of importance. This whole process wasn't about me bitching about my life and defending these arrogant, naive, materialistic, self centered people. But, what I'm saying is that, there is a reason as to why that is, and instead of condemning them for it, either ignore them, or even help them. The less negativity spurted out into this world, especially regarding other people, maybe, not saying definitely, but I'd like to hope that it would, as Ms. America would say, "Make this world a better place." It is a possibility however to do so. If we'd just spend our time doing greater things for ourselves and others, rather than picking on "hipsters" and all the other clichéd groups out there, just maybe that change could happen.

@snagglepuss, agree. I actually DO know a little about life, have a lot of life experience and frankly there is much to learn still. I am not going waste it being a poser, which essentially what these" hipsters" do. As for this kid at least he seems to have an intellectual process. Thats not a bad thing, regardless of label. Hey, lets all get along people. @Britney Spears.....The fact that you are challenged and perhaps lack life experience and/or functional synapses does not hold true for the rest of humanity per se. Probably you are just young and confused, or possibly none to sharp. Sorry about that.

Britney Spears is a greater skeptic than even David Hume, apparently. I wasn't aware that we had such a wise and articulate expert on epistemological matters in the Blogtown trolling community. I stand corrected, and humbled.
