why the f would this get a poll. It's a pretty damn good complaint if you ask me. Taking your kids down the street in the bike lane is ok. Taking them down the street in the bike lane of a busy street with lots of traffic, both cycles and cars is just stupid. It doesn't seem like a far-fetched complaint and thus not a good candidate for a bs poll...just sayin

This is a mostly shitty "white people's" complaint, which is why i voted 'Mostly full of shit'.

I've traveled along N.Vancouver by bike myself many times, usually from Killingsworth to Rose Quarter. It's a very pleasent ride but i've never seen that much bike traffic. Dude, if you see a little kid in the bike lane, JUST GO AROUND! Sheesh.

Dammit Damosa you have to have your opinion on everything.

...just saying.

@ Damosa - no comment on the racist bs but unless you are traveling that rout at a very few select times during the day (and I think you are full of shit here) you are going to see a shit ton of traffic both with bikes and vehicles. It seriously is no place for a family biking lesson. Unless the lesson involves how to deal with trauma.

Typically I won't pick on your comments like the other 90% of our little troll community will simply because I prefer an alliance among assholes but sometimes, I swear you intentionally alienate yourself...just sayin...

Around early afternoon to mid evening times during the week - that's when i've typically rode down N. Vancouer. By my own personal account, this road is NOT chock full of traffic. It's very easy to navigate on bike; the only [possible] bummer being that often times one doesn't beat the traffic lights.
You can call "bs" if you want still, but that's how it really is.

Little kid occasionally in the bike lane... so what? This is a pissant grievance. I would hope that most cyclists are minimally skilled enough to SWERVE AROUND such obsticles. And again, the traffic along most of this street is light enough that the chances of swerving into the direct path of a car are soo slim that it's really nothing to worry about.

@Damosa: What kind of bike do you ride? What pretty color is it? And exactly what time, EXACTLY, do you like to ride your bike... It might be fun for us to go for a ride sometime.

i ride bikes all the time, and this guy is a agro-biker asshole.

take your road rage to l.a. dude
9
I don`t know what`s the ratio for Inteligence Artificial bike riders in this town but the route doesn`t seem that dangerous when it`s not crowded or filled with no common sense riders.

North Williams and Vancouver is one of the safest bike corridors I've happened to ride in the city, you want unsafe, ride up Broadway downtown during morning rush hour, if I saw a kid riding with his parents in that kind of situation I'd completely agree, but this is just aggro biker tude, gotta agree with number 8.

I ride with my son often now but we walk across the busy "BIG STREETS" because he's just not ready to be riding on them. I really hope nobody gets hurt, this does sound like a pretty dangerous road for small children to be on.

Clumsy, swerving, unpredictable little kids belong on the side streets or sidewalks. Bike lanes are for TRAFFIC. Same goes for drunks.

@ pinehurstkid- sounds like a wise move. This is considered one of the busiest bike corridors in Portland with over 3000 bikes per day and rush hour traffic has created a lot of car accidents along this route.

Please wait...

and remember to be decent to everyone
all of the time.
