It'll be alright dude. Many folks were discussing the marathon at OCCUPY last night and NOONE has plans of fucking with you. As far as i understand, oganizers from both OCCUPY and the run are coordinating with each other, so that EVERYONE can have their space.
Did you see any of the media coverage? Demonstrators were peaceful and respectful. The city is making special exceptions to certain laws to accommodate these people. Why assume they will fuck something up for you?
maybe some runners will get into the occupy thing and maybe some demonstrators will start running once the thing starts. It`s way too confusion down there.
Obviously you didn't go to #OccupyPortland, or you would know that the crowd isn't at all like that. And if you didn't go the protest that thousands of others went to, you really don't care that much about supporting occupiers all over the country, do you?
hmm, one event filled with 14k of people who want a better community, 14k of people who want to do their race and compete against themselves and others.
Ooohh, I know this one. Easy.
The ones who didn't file for a permit reserving the space that suddenly wants to take it over.
The situation seems peacefully resolved now, thankfully.
But isn't there something more than a little pompous about these claims of people saying they deserve it because they want a better community?
I've seen this attitude in print several times now, including in todays 'O'.
You can arguably make the case that the runners are achieving more in making a better community, as well.
I'm just glad deez occupy portland ninjaz didn't try to fuk my access to tha ICP/Twiztid show last Tuezday, cuz thats when I bust out tha glock and mow down some hippiez.
Cheers, bro!
I think your attitude sucks.
They could make a statement of support(those that DID support it)and take something symbolic with them on their run.
which one is more selfish?
