Also, take SE 16th instead of 20th, and Clinton instead of Division. They're less dangerous and prettier.

Also, don't take Hawthorne uphill between 12th and 27th. Go one block north or south instead and it will be better for everyone.

don't you just love when some douchebag who says he rides his bike tries to tell you where you should ride yours and where you shouldn't?

they're all public streets, douchebag, and you are allowed to ride your bike on all of them.

the only streets in portland closed to bikes are the limited access freeways.

suck it up.

BTW, doing 45 MPH on Prescott is speeding, otherwise known as breaking the law.

so, it sounds like your message is really 'Don't ride your bike here, so you won't inconvenience a bunch of scofflaw motorists who could give a shit about the speed limit and don't want to be inconvenienced by having to watch out for other road users and drive safely'?

Haha! Nice-- there totally needs to be little signs on main streets telling cyclists they've got better options a few streets over. Or maybe a little public education campaign:

Hey, cyclists! Don't ride on main streets! There's a safer, faster option just a few streets over.

There are few of us registered users who actually use their real name, like you and I, so what's the difference?
As for me, I'm riding my bike down whatever street I want to - but stay aware of car doors and keep to the right as far as I can. I try not to impede car traffic, which is something some of these selfish,self-righteous assholes take pleasure in.

Bikes on Prescott drive me INSANE! I live 1 block south- there are signs that let you know that bikes lanes are are Going & Skidmore. USE THEM!
