"...it feels devaluating?" Are you kidding me?
Yes, it's annoying, but by stating it that way, I'm surprised they didn't pretend to have an emergency and leave. Step up and be more engaging.
well most girls are quite insecure, thus hyper-socializing adds a sense of confirmation and validation. women have always felt inferior so the need to offset that with excessive socializing (regardless of the moment) is always going to be there. it's just what makes girls who they are. i tolerate it knowing they do it not out of rudeness but out of fear of being alone and insecurity.
@1. Whoa, hit a little to close to home. Just because you're an insufferable AA interweb whore doesn't mean you gotz to project bro. Quit hiding the truth from these good people. Maybe, like IA, your lady would like you to put the phone down.
i have, on more than one occasion, walked out on people who are more connected with their phones than the present moment. If we are out to spend time together, whether a friend or a lover, and the phone device cannot be shut off for an hour to engage in conversation or enjoy a show, then BYE! Fortunately, there have only been a few, & the lesson was learned. Seriously rude.
Yes, I agree with this post. It's fucking rude. It's one thing to answer a couple texts, but the constant bombardment of ZMOG I JUST ATE A WAFFLE!!!! is tiresome.
However, this totally goes both ways. Social networking attention seekers are usually of no determined gender.
I know some dudes who update just as much as some ladies.
And to respond to Arenit: Way to make sweeping generalizations. You come off sounding like a chauvinist ass.
All the time I eat with a large group of people I Instragram my dessert and I send it around to my friends with marks on what lenses and fx I have used and they do the same.
