I am not trying to be disingenuous Geyser (and stop making me spell long words jerkface!:)), it is an honest question. I have spoken to some Occupy people and largely agree with them. My question is why they attract so many idiots?

I can give you an analogy which I believe fits this situation. Have you seen the idiots that run anound in "tapout gear" shirts and act like tools? I can promise you 90% are not fighters and don't even train. They just want to be part of a groundswell culture because they think its "cool" much like the idiot vandals that surround Occupy. As an ex fighter who has been around MMA since the 90's I can tell you that very few guys in the sport wear the gear unless they are a sponsor. Even fewer put on a Tapout gear shirt and go the the bar and act the fool. Do you see the analogy Geyser?
