You can always just not listen. If you ever had an annoying sibling you'd know how this works. You learn how to zone out voices you don't want to hear. It's a great tactic to use when in public.
The fact you think most people in Portland are from here and only a few are from elsewhere proves you're just as much of a transplant as the people you're railing against. Good try though.

Portland - 36.27 inches
It may rain more days out of the year in Portland, but other parts receive more annually.
