I don't see what your invoking race has to do with it. Does it distress you to see so many of your fellow White brethren so clearly on the desperate fringes of society? As a panhandle in a predominantly black city in central NC, I too see more Caucasians (myself included) panhandling. I also see few if any Caucasians selling drugs, acting as pimps, or engaging in various forms of theft. It seems to me that Caucasians would rather beg than steal, since there's no innocent victims. It's weird when I think about it all the minorities I've met that are homeless, they sell wares on the street to get money. Anything from incense to roots newspaper. The white homeless people that I've met, seem to have no pride whatsoever when it comes to begging. Some are such assholes that they even cuss at you for not giving them a dollar, or throw garbage at you.

@stjohnsrules not true. a majority of los angeles is hispanic. but, take a walk through downtown, where most of the homeless population is concentrated and you'll see mostly black people on the streets. they account for just barely 10% of the los angeles population.

Have you never been approached by the black individual who always, and I mean always says this:
"Hey man, I know you don't do favors but, could you do this favor right here..." picks a bunch of pennies and nickels out of his pocket "I need .73 for the next train, can you do me that favor?"
He has hit me up at least 5 times with that same thing.
