I noticed this myself within weeks of first moving here. Does seem a bit odd that [for a city this size] businesses don't keep later hours. Most shops are closed by 7 or 8, pretty much everything by 10. After 12, your only choices are shitty fast food drive throughs, Denny's, Roxy's, Winco, 711, and Plaid.

But you're lucky if you have a vehicle. If you're on foot and live in a "food desert", you're pretty much fucked.

Pack your lunch. Maybe some fudge. Hell, ask Commenty Colin (aka Community Colon). He'll hook you up. Tell him I sent ya.

A city of this size? What city? Only farm kids from the midwest (90% of this town) consider it a "city", let alone one of any size.
4
Hey, Arenit! Don't let us stop you from moving to 'a city'...
5
Whatever, a metro area with 2 million+ residents can have something open late downtown other than voodoo donuts.

Honestly, I have no idea why everything shuts down so early here. You'd think the market would support at least one burger joint...
6
i'm not sure what exactly you expect to be open at 3am other than a 7/11.
7
So arenit, your argument is that Portland (with a core pop. of around 584,000) is NOT a city?
8
Sizzle Pie is open until 3am weeknights and 4am weekends. Why you insufferable white people can't seem to figure out how to use Google is beyond me. Fucking imbecile. Pizza by the slice until 4am! Problem solved!
9
I whole heartedly agree. This city shuts down way too early.

The Roxy! Only one person in this whole thread knows of The Roxy; how can you actually live here and never of been to The Roxy? Shameful transplants!

Cartopia food cart pod at SE 12th & Hawthorne is open til 3am every night. I know it's not downtown technically, but you have a car, and that is some damn good food.
12
yeah lazy-ass, you just aren't looking hard enough. maybe no eats on your route home, but there are some late night pizza windows and carts. be better.
13
It's totally easier to remember which places are open till late. One snooping at that time all over google the city is an indicator of some other sort. Who lives in the city knows which spots are open or not.
14
And apparently, there's a Mexican place on NE Lombard that's open 24/7. Anyone know the name?
15
Sizzle Pie is open until 3AM.
16
DamosA: that's Javier's.

Thanks, RB.

I think the bigger problem is that trimet doesn't run AT ALL during these hours.

Please wait...
