Just so you know, Anon, you're gonna get at least one (if not all) of these comments in response to your rant:

1. "It's the internet, get over it!"
2. "You are misunderstanding what this section is about!"
3. "If you can't handle the shit talking, don't come ranting on here!"
4. "Coming on here to rant about trolls makes YOU a troll, troll!"
5. "Shut up, asshole!"

Of course, I am only generalizing these comments; not everyone will repeat these verbatim, but seeing as you presented an astute observation, you probably already knew to expect these type of comments!

There's just one thing I want to suggest to you for next time you find yourself in a particularly cunning, troll-like mood: channel this energy into a girlfriend/boyfriend/fuck buddy/pet/part-time job/education, as per your own suggestion. Nobody is going to heed your words, but you certainly can, Anon!

Sometimes I can't believe how harsh some people can be here (especially when one of my rants is posted), but I quickly remember that's half the point of this place. Let witty, angry ppl spew their shit. I get over it. You should get over it as well. It's a bunch of walking-Thesaursus' that are (probably) well educated. Blame the economy on not giving all these wordsmiths with Masters and PhD's better jobs that would take up their time vs ragging on bloggers.

What a boring gripe. The internet is mean. Next.

I guarantee you many of the trolls have a "girlfriend/boyfriend/fuck buddy/pet/part-time job/education". The job and the education are the easy part. Pulling off having a girlfriend, boyfriend and a fuck buddy can be a little tricky, but hey this is Portland...

Education: check.
Job: quit in July.
Girlfriend: damn, I need to post an IA about this.
Volunteering:check.

I have all those things you seem to think I need, and yet I still enjoy calling stupid people stupid on the internet. Must be something wrong with your theory.

@Holycatsbatman, that's a good list. All 5 of those statements seem applicable here, and I fully endorse their use. I would also add a #6: "If you don't like the comments, then you could try [gasp] not reading them." That would be a 100% solution to the problem, and it comes at a very low cost.

If you don't like a group of people, try ignoring them as your first solution. It usually works very well. That is, unless you like going out of your way to shit on other people. Then, I suppose, posting here was the better plan.

Good, seems fair. I've been doing that all along. What I think am gonna do now, is move in someones living room and let them try to ignore me, till I wait for them to fall from their high post delirium self induced delusion.

Probably someone who's thinking of bringing to the world the next big most bought authors book accompanied by the most startling movie ever seen by a blind woman and tell them in the ear everyday you're below average.

I agree. It's so lame to rag on somebody for their observation of a personal situation.

Troll trying to armchair quarterback somebody else's life.

Wow, look at all the skin this person got under...

Please wait...
