Poorly written, overambitious and underfunded ballot measures rarely make the cut. Washington and Colorado seem to have gotten their shit straight at least.
I proudly voted no on Measure 80--not because I oppose marijuana use--but because I cannot be responsible for the creation of an industry-appointed regulatory body.
^^ Marijuana prohibition primarily affects minorities. Your "principled" vote against 80 means even more people (namely minorities) will be incarcerated over a plant, all because you oppose an industry-appointed regulatory body. Talk about having your head up your ass.
Can you really shoot that far, or are you carrying around a stepladder? I suppose you could ask people to crouch or kneel down, but the older folks especially might have a difficult time doing that. I suppose a pogo stick might serve, aiming would be a challenge, though.
Please actually try that in real life and not just in your head. I want to see on the news some jackhole got arrested for jerking off in public. Then you'll be labeled a sex offender; have to knock on people's doors in your neighborhood; tell them you're a sex offender! Revenge!
boo hoo hoo. 80 would have actually made it more expensive to enjoy the mostly-decriminalized, widely available weed you enjoy today. you should be counting your blessings. dude.
Did any of you actually read Measure 80? "Poorly worded" is a huge understatement. The opening section is a god damned NORML pamphlet. IT WOULD MAKE IT OREGONIAN LAW THAT GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THOMAS JEFFERSON SMOKED WEED. That shit was written by every white guy with dreads you've ever hated.
The average person doesn't care about how much you love the stone. Most people smoke at one time or another, but the people who get worked up over this shit are those with a habit. And to anyone over age 25, stoners suck.
Frankly, I'm surprised that it passed in Washington and Colorado.
