But the fat fuck Hillsboro mom with 80 tons of arm flab, 3 bastard kids and a doublewide stroller, that's totally fine.

Chumpy chodel likes to yodel.

I do not like the horse, his voice is very coarse, and he rhymes "purse" "poarse."

Oh, good. Another "entitled" post. It's time for a ban on that word. Along with "privileged," "white," "fluoride," and "Medford."

I love that the "double-wide stroller" reference makes you think of a double-wide trailer, which in turn reinforces the whole fat/trailer-trash/breeder motif. Well-played commenter #1.

Bikes are not prohibited on MAX during any hours (unlike, for example, BART down there in SF). They're merely discouraged during peak times. Here's Trimet's incredible vague language:

"You can bring a standard-size bike on the bus, MAX, WES or Streetcar, but only if there's room in one of the designated bike spaces."

Yep, if there's a hook and two people can oh-so-graciously take a step to the side, it's fine to bring bikes aboard. The only time this should ever be an issue is when the train's absolutely packed. Otherwise, learn to respect the fact that some people rely on MAX to do sightly different stuff than you do.

I bike and MAX daily. Even in the height of winter, it is difficult to find space in the afternoon headed from Hillsboro back to downtown.

I usually end up standing in the bike area with by bike propped up. As the train gets closer to downtown, more bikers hop on and I've seen up to 10 bikes in one end-area during the summer. It's been this way for the two and half years that I've worked in Hillsboro, and probably was this way before that.

My proposed solution is to convert the elevated area on one car per train to a bike storage area. I think you could easily fit 16 to 20 bikes/bikers in that area and it would reduce congestion in the entry ways and make it easier for both cyclists and walkers to ride the MAX.

As a MAX rider, have to agree with this Anon, during rush hour at least. Many young healthy riders shoehorn their bike into a crowd of people and then ride five or six stops.

Only once in many years have I heard the driver announce over the PA at a stop for the cyclists to wait for the next train. It was much appreciated.

@Blabby - About 4 weeks ago, a single car train pulled up to Orenco and there was limited room for any additional bikes. The driver asked over the intercom that we wait for the next train. I'm a nice guy, so I decided to wait. Only the next train didn't show up for 25 minutes (this is an every 15 minute portion of the schedule) and it was full too.

^^ So, if you ride your bike to Hillsboro, why can't you ride it back to Portland? Serious question.

If you want to walk something, get a fuckin' dog. If you have a bike, ride it you lazy fucks.

Please wait...
