It's funny because Portland has a long, rich history of violence and intimidation against racial minorities, something a lifelong native steeped in Portland's near-SE culture is more likely to know than an out-of-towner!
A perfect example of why i'm so wary when riding through an intersection when i don't have a stop sign -- because some numbnuts cyclist like this guy thinks all he has to worry about is getting hit by a car when he's running a stop sign, completely forgetting about the fact HE might very well be the one about to bring about an accident, by slamming into a much-less-visible/audible pedestrian or fellow cyclist.
Wait, you were going up hill? Oh, then nevermind -- feel free to completely disregard the law and abandon any amount of caution/consideration for others in order to save your poor self from having to start from a stop. Let me guess: you ride a fixie? Yeah, because gears are dumb and superfluous (except when they're not, like on hills and dead-starts).
OMG--You think going over the top is alright because you are special. Your not that special. You are an idiot just like the
one you are raging about. Don't drive anymore because the
people on the road are as nuts as you. Do us all a favor, and
quit talking about your rope. New York drivers are generally not hicks like you. You are a throw back.
Hey buddy, having a selfish disregard for the law is one thing, but it's totally not okay to throw a fucking hissy fit when somebody calls you on it. Probably you subconsciously assume they're non-native because they actually told you you're an asshole instead of posting to I,A and repeatedly calling you "buddy".
Being born here doesn't mean you can pick and choose the laws you want to follow, buddy. What's more, making it an issue of native vs. non-native (and I'm guessing that on some branch of your family tree there is a crap ton of European immigrants - not actual native Americans) just makes Portland look like the passive-aggressive place that everyone already thinks it is. Thanks a lot for that, buddy.

Get it? Ha ha!

Uhh that's not what this blog is for...
