Ugh, this is really stupid or if the author meant this to be funny, it falls short. One can not simply switch their sexuality. It's not a choice. There is a battle in the LGBT community that they cannot simply choose to be gay or bi and the idea that you can't find a suitable dude, you're just going to try out the ladies. Those poor women that you're going to date. What a shame they'll be your emotional guinea pigs.
As a hetero, single female in Portland who can also share your dating struggles - this A, I's statement is dumb. Never have I entertained the idea of trying out ladies just because I've been disappointed in my dating selection.
Perhaps, A, I, the problem is you. Picking the wrong dudes, not opening yourself up to a wider selection of cooler dudes. Don't go and try out women and give them baggage that'll fuck them up in future romances. It's selfish. It's insulting.

Hayley, normally I agree with your points of view, but I do think for some people ones' sexuality is a choice.
I'm not discounting the majority of those whom have no choice either, but how else could you explain being bi?
