I find gas attendants to be some of the nicest people in town. I think people are dicks to them because they either assume its a dirty job and that only a dirty person would work it (which isn't true) -- or its the assumption that "I'm better than you because I'm in a car and you're not, I'm the customer and you're not, etc".

Some people are just miserable twats, and getting behind the wheel only exacerbates it.

Yes, I would like an advanced receipt for all the on-line transactions from Florida, Georgia, Russia, etc., that will show up on my account after you run my card through your handy pocket card-skimmer.

The first time I ever bought gas I accidentally tipped my gas pumper $10 because I didn't realize how it worked... then I walked into the store and gave the attendant another $10 when I realized my fuck up, and meekly walked back to my car and left without making eye contact with the guy I gave $10.
