Sorry, unless this is about pooping, food carts, bikes, coffee, grocery stores, food carts, nudity, dogs, cars, sex, office work, suicide, recycling, and a few more, it doesn't work here. Go to reddit.

Don't get sick, cause there's so many of you and our budget allotment can't take care of all of you.

Budget allotment? There's a budget allotment? Nobody told me there is a budget allotment. Where is this budget allotment. I want MY budget allotment.

This is the result of rash decisions and poor planning for the inevitable fallout. Maybe we should stop reelecting the same dipshits to power over and over, thinking we will get different results.

I,anon, Welcome back. Your rant is so typical of some young soldier just letting it out? Why not, you made your sacrifice? Trying to wrap your head around what you've seen and done. Yes it is true, some will disrespect you, and be cutting to the bone.

Get an advocate to help you get through the VA paperwork and don't take any crap when you need surgery or mental health and they pull the wait forever for help.

No,leave the grenades, flame throwers, machine guns back in another place. Your home now with a lot of home grown thrill seekers.

I really do feel for those who come back state-side and are fucked up and/or have trouble acclimating to civilian life. But, it's been 50 years since we starting sending troops over to Vietnam.

Wasn't the lesson from that war that our gov't doesn't give a shit about the lives they're ruining solely for their own self-interests and/or the perceived interests of this country.

How low has our country sunk that the education we provide doesn't deter the youth from enlisting in the military? How low have we sunk that the poor, uneducated, and desperate youth of this country are willing to sacrifice their lives and sanity for the sake of mediocre pay and piss poor healthcare (under the guise of patriotism) just to support their families and/or escape from poverty?

The gov't, and the military it controls, prey on the poor and ignorant. We owe it to those, who have sacrificed part of their souls, to afford them healthcare and counseling when they return from the hell we needlessly sent them off to.

That said, at some point, people need to realize what they're signing up for. Cliche as it sounds, war is hell. You're signing up for hell. I don't believe in the after-life, but if hell really does exist, it can wait until death.

Vets still get points on their job applications, don't they?
10
^not too many companies want to hire recent vets, but the points on their job applications are more warning signs then points. Many young vets have few skills for corporations, and the numbers are increasing. The mental situation, compounded with lack of decent leadership has made them less trusting for corporate life.

What came first the chicken or the egg? Going to college and getting a good job after duty, or settle on a meaningless job that escalates their depression?

Job Market being what it is, many settle for anything to pay the bills. Many become homeless, because they come back with serious issues. Some excel because of the experience.

Please wait...
