Aw man not again. All i ordered were the chicken wings. Why did they add the scornbread and the large spite?
2
I'm going to assume "chalk full" is an intentional pun because otherwise it's too depressing.
3
Goddammit, it was right there on my to-do list, "enjoy the golden era for the white race," underlined and everything, and I totally spaced. Well, next time.
4
All name calling aside, Portland used to be a nice, integrated town, until after the Vietnam War. Globalist engineering is eroding American culture. When the majority here are from countries which have no concept of Liberty and Freedom, then Totalitarianism will prevail.
5
I love the way the concept of "white guilt" is used to keep people who are in a position of privilege from questioning their own privilege.

But sure, it totally makes sense for the burden of ending oppression to fall on the oppressed.
6
I only hate OLD white people. Scratch that. I hate white people between the ages of 10-21 and 50+.

Those in between generally realize how bad the older generation has fucked us and how annoying the kids have become.

Unfortunately, in another 10-15 years, my self-loathing with increase drastically.
7
White guilt, white privilege, 'mansplaining', etc, etc.

Basically if you had the arrogance to be born a white male in the United States you should be ashamed by your very existence and you should constantly make sure everyone around you knows you're super sorry for your dick and your white skin.

"I've run out of white guilt" - Bill Burr
8
Yes, assisse, that must really suck for y'all.
9
> that must really suck for y'all

BellTrolls: Unfairly guilt tripping anyone sucks, regardless of their skin color. Don't excuse discrimination/shaming of any sort.
10
I saw Roots in seventh-grade social studies. I felt bad about what I saw. That's about as far as it goes for me.
11
Nobody is asking you to feel guilty. Just treat other humans like humans, is all.

I know, I know, #notallwhitemen
12
White trash are deserving of all the scorn and mocking they recieve. Trash of any color are worthless burdens not worth my pity. I pity their children.
13
@Um,ICE?!

Roots is so seventh grade. 12 years a slave is like the Roots booster shot but more powerful.

You will feel truly evil by the time the credits role:-)
14
> Just treat other humans like humans, is all.

I said this very same thing to you, and you replied with "that must be so hard for yall".

At least you're living up to your username.
15
Show me where you said that.
16
As I've said multiple times, guilt tripping someone for having the audacity to be born white and/or male is not "treating humans like humans". There seems to be this train of thought (which your first response to me embodied) of "treat humans like humans, but white males are so lucky so it's ok to guilt trip them". Then your response was to turn it around as "oh, you precious white guys, how hard you must have it...", essentially forbidding any kind of discrimination unless it's against white males.

Your stance reminds me of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-avakrRUa…

where the woman from Gawker basically argues that celebs have such a good life that it's ok for us to harass them and stalk them because they're protected with piles of money and have it better than the rest of us.

You make up some fake excuse to discriminate against a group of people you deem to have it easy, while simultaneously demanding that same group of people not discriminate against you.
17
Why don't we all just be sad all the time? Poor people's children are the ones that seem to be getting the brunt of a lot of shit.

The cultural, religious, race divide is getting a lot of innocent people hurt. I think most people wish we could all get along. ...Don't feel guilty if your innocent.
18
I didn't really guilt trip you (I don't think guilt is productive) so much as I slightly mocked your self-pity. I didn't mock you for being white and male, but for being self-pitying.

If a group of people had spent the last several hundred years doing everything in their power to keep your own group of people down, you might regard them with suspicion. It doesn't mean you hate every individual within that group, but it also might mean you don't feel all that bad for them when they're like "We're soooo misunderstood! Stop making us feel bad!"

I'm not saying that what white men have done in the past is your fault. I'm just saying that the rest of us have cause to be wary - because we fear for our fucking safety. And yes, my safety is more important to me than your feelings.
19
@imrightyourwrong- wasn't that the one where they go to modern day San Francisco and capture a pair of humpback whales?
20
> I slightly mocked your self-pity

So now saying "don't discriminate against anyone" = self pity? Interesting.

> If a group of people had spent the last several hundred years doing everything in their power to keep your own group of people down, you might regard them with suspicion.

This type of thinking is the very seed of prejudice belief right here, and the irony of you posting it in a thread like this is very telling. "Well, hey, look, some of you white folks were bad a few centuries ago, so now I have no choice but to be suspicious of you in 2014".

I wasn't around for the last several hundred years and don't appreciate you and others attributing slave era behavior to me.

> but it also might mean you don't feel all that bad for them when they're like "We're soooo misunderstood! Stop making us feel bad!"

Who said I was misunderstood? You're essentially arguing in favor of 'it's ok to discriminate against people you feel have it better than you', completely contradicting your previous statement of "treat humans like humans". You seem confused about your own position.. but that's common for self admitted trolls.

> I'm not saying that what white men have done in the past is your fault. I'm just saying that the rest of us have cause to be wary -

"I'm not saying all black people steal, but I'm still going to have security follow you around the store." You're endorsing profiling based on skin color while simultaneously demanding white males don't discriminate against other people. You must be trolling now.

> because we fear for our fucking safety. And yes, my safety is more important to me than your feelings.

Nice to know my white skin is threatening to your safety. Tell us again how you're not prejudiced?
21
Because that wasn't what you said. What you actually said was, "Basically if you had the arrogance to be born a white male in the United States you should be ashamed by your very existence and you should constantly make sure everyone around you knows you're super sorry for your dick and your white skin." Which sounds like a crazy exaggeration, and an awful lot like self-pity, yeah.
22
> Which sounds like a crazy exaggeration, and an awful lot like self-pity, yeah.

Someone doesn't know what sarcasm is.
23
And my personal fear for my safety isn't about your skin, it's about 15 years of being harassed, followed, threatened, groped, etc., all by men. So, sorry if I cross the street to avoid you late at night. I don't think you're probably a murderer or rapist, but it's not really worth it to me to take that risk in order to avoid hurting your feelings by crossing.

Again, it's not about you personally. It's about the fact that a lot of us live in fear, but feel free to keep derailing the point to make it about you.
24
If you had actually just been like "bigotry is bad" we would not be having this stupid fucking conversation. Maybe you were trying to say that, but your point got kind of lost in your "sarcastic" pity party.
25
yeah no Um, ICE?! you are thinking of Roots: Wrath of Kunta Kinte, also played by Lavar Burton, strangely enough, who is captured by Klingon collaborators under the direction of white men. To return to his planet Kunta must time-travel back to the 20th century to obtain a mating pair of humpback whales, and also take a white wife(marine biologistCatherine Hicks) to care of them. I mean the whales. And him.
26
> Again, it's not about you personally. It's about the fact that a lot of us live in fear, but feel free to keep derailing the point to make it about you.

Espouse prejudice in selfish manner, demand nobody else be prejudice. Declare "bigotry is bad", continue being bigot. This heat got you trolling hard huh?

> If you had actually just been like "bigotry is bad" we would not be having this stupid fucking conversation.

That's exactly what my post was about. ALL bigotry/prejudice is bad. You're the one making excuses why you're prejudice against men because we're super rapey so why not assume negative intent right off the bat? It's no different than avoiding black people because you're scared they'll be violent to you, steal from you, etc.

You're espousing the very fundamental basic of what bigotry stems from. "I have a couple bad experiences, so I assume all people of this color/gender are a risk to me. Sorry if my prejudice offends you." Just admit you're being prejudice. Perhaps you need to re-read the definition to clarify things.
27
It's not as if Belle isn't the only sane person in the World.
28
aw shit, someone's puppet account got exposed
29
"I have a couple bad experiences, so I assume all people of this color/gender are a risk to me. Sorry if my prejudice offends you."

Looks like somebody missed the entire #yesallwomen phenomenon.
30
Also, why would I need a second/more annoying account when I already say whatever the fuck I want with this one?
31
> Looks like somebody missed the entire #yesallwomen phenomenon.

Translation: "It's not prejudice if you use a hashtag."

Prejudice is prejudice. If, as you say, being prejudice keeps you safe and that your safety is more important than offending people with your prejudice then fine. But it's still prejudice, and all the hashtags in the world won't change that.
32
I'm no longer at work, and as such will now be finding better entertainment.

You can call me prejudiced. This does not bother me. It's true that I'm no longer willing to take risks with strange men, because my experience has proven that to be risky indeed. Feel free to be offended: again, that doesn't bother me. It's just kind of funny.

In closing, here's an article on straight white male privilege (don't worry, it's written by a straight white male, for straight white males): http://whatever.scalzi.com/2012/05/15/stra…

I make fun of (and/or weep for the future of our nation and the Human species because of) rednecks and white trash because, as Twain so rightly pointed out, "Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand."

We must NOT allow these dangerous buffoons to be taken seriously in civilized society. Those who hold and promote racist and/or bigoted and/or archaic, dis-proven ideas (i.e. fundamentalist religious dogma, Social Darwinism, xenophobia, anti-Constitutionalism, etc.) SHOULD be laughed out of the room.

I come from a long line of white trash (related- to -Andrew Jackson- by -bigamist -marriage -long- line)...I consider it my DUTY to call out the ignorance of my own whenever I see it. And to be fair, I am an equal opportunity mocker; I attack stupid, bigoted people of all ethnic and class backgrounds equally.

It is, imo, actually far more insulting and "in poor taste" to PITY these people than it is to call them out, mock them, and point out the idiocy of their logic (lack thereof).
At least grant them the benefit of the doubt that they can DEFEND their bullshit using the agreed upon standards of debate and reason (they can't).

No-one ever grew the fuck up and out of their moronic ideas and behavior by being pitied by those who feel superior to them. Such moronic ideas and behavior require a good strong bitch-slap in the form of wide-spread social disapproval.

Besides, these are hardly benign, innocent, pitiable agents; they are actively plotting to take over our fucking country, subvert our Constitution and cram their ignorance down our collective throats , and they've made significant in-roads (witness the Faux News and ClearChannel empires, Congress and Hobby Lobby).
34
> You can call me prejudiced.

BellTrolls: I'm not calling you prejudiced. You admitted to being prejudiced, therefore you -are- prejudiced. It's not my personal opinion. It's a fact you fully cop to, yet excuse because of a hashtag.
35
Jesus christ man, I wasn't even trying to say that white men are bad or should feel bad. All I did in leaving a sarcastic reply to your (apparently also sarcastic, but if so then why are you so offended? I'm genuinely not understanding) comment was insinuate that the majority of white men might not be all that aware of their own privilege, or have heard the term but don't really get the scope of it. I honestly hate talking about privilege because it tends to spiral horribly out of control and become very tiresome, but clearly I was not showing a lot of self-control on that front today.

Is your evidence of my prejudice that I try to avoid strange men while walking alone at night? Please just do some research and try to understand that that is often a genuinely dangerous situation for women. It's not just a handful of my own experiences. It doesn't mean I hate men, or generally avoid them or mistreat them (though I may be sarcastic with them when discussing privilege - to be fair I'm a pretty sarcastic person at all times). It just means that I try to take precautions in situations that are dangerous for women. Caution, not bigotry. Do you think that events like Take Back The Night are also prejudiced on the same grounds? Men are welcome to participate!

Honestly, I regret getting into any of this with you. I can't say I've ever had much issue with you as a fellow troll in the past, but now I'm a little bit concerned that you're an MRA or something. I'm hoping we both just got a bit heated and maybe said some regrettable and not entirely relevant things. Of course, you don't have to agree. Can we be done, though?
36
LOL Wait they actually got us mixed up? I haven't logged in forever, but that's fucking gold.
37
Wow assisse, I've never seen a wild hair up someone's ass grow into an entire set of dreadlocks.

You can be incredibly severe at times. Deep breaths my friend, deep breaths.
38
> Of course, you don't have to agree. Can we be done, though?

Of course I don't agree. I'm not pointing out your prejudice, I'm pointing out your hypocrisy. Earlier in the thread it was "treat humans as humans", then it morphed to men, then you backpedaled to "strange men", now it seems you have no idea who constitutes a threat to your safety and security.

All it boils down to is "I had a few bad experiences with a group of people, so now I avoid all of them, cross the street at night, and am suspicious". Well ok, you're free to feel that way, but don't then turn around and declare you're not prejudice and that you treat everyone equally, because you don't. You're trying to say the politically correct thing while admitting you don't practice what you preach, and *that* is what I'm calling you out on.
39
Here's the deal. If you are white and anything comes out of your mouth, it proves that you are racist, insensitive, and entitled.

Please wait...
