There are no (simple) conversations (at a [MAX] stop). Stop.
2
Not angry huh? That's seven (count em) 7! e's in your jeeeeeeebus.

Yeah you're angry alright.
3
I was going to write something bitingly sarcastic about the content of your post, but instead: why did you sully your sweet use of brackets inside the parentheses with a comma preceding? Tsk tsk!
4
Did you see me running after you as your train sped away from the station? I was waving a handkerchief and wearing a maroon bonnet.
5
WHAT THE FUCK EVEN IS THIS DONT TALK TO PEOPLE ON TRANSIT YOU FUCKING CREEP
6
Women have been taught by checkout line magazines that if you aren't David Beckham, any unsolicited communication is literally almost rape. Take your male privilege elsewhere, you are scum of the earth for trying to awkwardly flirt with a precious innocent defenseless woman.
7
"So if you are there again and read this I would really like to explore more of this place..."

Really?

Also: Don't attempt to strike-up a conversation with a total stranger waiting for the MAX. It will never come across as anything other than pathetically super-awkward and rapey...never.
8
Try looking in the mirror and exercising those smiling muscles. As the strange men of the world have been telling me for years, you look better when you smile.
Also if you try to hit on a girl while looking angry, even if she's supposed to somehow know that you're not, she might get kind of creeped out, yeah.

And ignore assisse. If MRAs knew how to talk to girls, they wouldn't be MRAs.
9
Just fyi, BellTrolls admitted to being prejudice against men in an earlier comment thread while simultaneously arguing against prejudice. It was quite a sight. Apparently if you have a penis you're automatically rapey and should be assumed guilty.
10
That's not quite what happened, but for as much as assisse honed in on the word prejudice (which he doesn't seem to recognize as an adjective) and refused to talk about or acknowledge the very real social context in which women have to be careful around strange men, let me just point out how incredibly sexist (i.e. "prejudice(d)") his first comment in this thread is.
11
Don't go away mad, just keep pestering, eh?
12
BellTrolls: You admitted yourself you were prejudiced toward men. There's really nothing left to debate. Your entire argument basically boiled down to "being prejudiced toward anyone is always bad, unless you're a white male, in which case you have thick skin and just need to deal with it".

I'm sorry you've apparently had so many chance encounters with "strange men" that you feel obligated to assume all of us are rapey, but most women I know lack your level of penis paranoia.
13
Note: Overuse of the word rapey is kinda rapey.
14
Actually my point was "stop complaining about being a straight white dude". You're the one who made it about my prejudice and wouldn't look at the big picture.

I've explained my prejudice and the very real reasons behind it. What's your excuse for hating women?
15
> Actually my point was "stop complaining about being a straight white dude".

Actually I was complaining about discrimination, not my skin color. But nice job trying to move the goalposts there.

> I've explained my prejudice

Classic.

> What's your excuse for hating women?

Yes, because I disagree with you clearly I hate women. A+

PS: How come after every post you make, within seconds it has 3 likes? Are you using various computers at your work to hype your posts? ;)
16
And I was mocking you for thinking that what you experience compares to real bigotry or oppression.

As for evidence of you hating women, I will once again call attention to the first post you made in this thread, which also displays your total lack of experience with checkout stand magazines, which actually only tell us that we need to lose more weight so as to attract a man.

Your theory about the likes is interesting, but doesn't explain all of your dislikes.
17
Oh look, your first post where there aren't 3 instant likes ;)

> which actually only tell us that we need to lose more weight so as to attract a man.

Losing weight is also good for your health. And yes, it makes you more attractive. This doesn't mean I "hate women". It's just common sense.
18
Lol, I have a BMI of 16.4. I don't need to lose weight - it would not be attractive or healthy. This is one of the many problems with marketing weight loss as a universal health/beauty solution.
19
Wow, defensive much? Nobody said *you* needed to lose weight -- simmer down.

It gets real old watching women spend so much time, money and effort on looking good, then blaming men for it. As for "hating women", it's funny you throw these accusations around over the faintest perceived slight, yet you go on about men being 'strange' or creepy and threatening. I love women, I'm not scared of them and I don't feel threatened or insecure when they're around.

I think you watch too much Oprah and whatever else that has you thinking that most men are insane creepos out to stalk and rape you. You seem to live in a vastly different reality than I do and it's unfortunate that women such as yourself seem to do all they can to perpetuate sexism with an 'us vs them' mentality, #yesallwomen, etc.
20
>It gets real old watching women spend so much time, money and effort on looking good, then blaming men for it.

Again, funny because of how butt-hurt you get when somebody makes generalizations about men. So butt-hurt that you have to go on about it for the duration of a 40 comment thread, yet here you are, generalizing about women, then getting mad when I don't take it as a generalization (which I actually did - I was just pointing out to you why generalizations like "Losing weight is also good for your health. And yes, it makes you more attractive." don't work).

I don't watch any Oprah, and she didn't invent the BASIC FEMINIST THEORY that I'm talking about. And I reference "strange men" as in "strangers" as in we haven't been introduced. Is getting totally sidetracked by one word your usual strategy for debate?

"Yes all women" is actually a reaction to the MRA cliche "not all men". "Not all men" is their standard way of denying that sexism happens. The logic being "Well I've never raped or murdered a woman, so all of these other instances of violence against women and rape culture must not be real." You don't have to kill somebody for murder to exist. "Yes all women" is about recognizing that while most men are not murders and rapists, our society is set up so that ALL women have to deal with casual harassment (at best) from PLENTY of males.

To review: not all men in our society are evil, but all women in our society are subject to the reality of this being a patriarchy. Is that SO fucking hard to grasp?
21
@FWTBT...

Having previously allowed myself toget caught up in the fool's errand that is trying to debate assisse logically, I would highly recommend throwing in the towel.

You've already won the battle of logic and reason. But in a war of persistence, you'll never beat the guy. He has an incredibly nasty habit of bastardizing any topic or response to suit his own cognitive dissonance.

Here's a stellar example...

RickStevens- so do you work at the bank or not?
23
> Again, funny because of how butt-hurt

Nice homophobia there. So if I dislike being generalized, I'm "butt hurt", but if I call you out for disliking generalizations against women it makes me a "hater". The double standard is rich. Truly.

> "Not all men" is their standard way of denying that sexism happens. The logic being "Well I've never raped or murdered a woman, so all of these other instances of violence against women and rape culture must not be real."

No, that would be "Not any man". Way to understand what words mean.

> not all men in our society are evil, but all women in our society are subject to the reality of this being a patriarchy. Is that SO fucking hard to grasp?

I love it, first you say "not all men" = denial, then you go right ahead and admit "not all men". I get it, it's ok for you to say it, but not me, because I have a penis, and I should feel bad for that.

It's no wonder you're stuck working some day job while I'm probably younger than you yet already retired. More brain, less rage. Thanks :)

RickStevens: I understand you probably don't meet many women working the phones for Chase bank, but creeping on girls in the comments section isn't going to get you anywhere. BellTrolls has enough computers at work to upvote her stuff and dislike dissenting comments, she doesn't need your help. :)
24
@ICE... The answer really depends on whether you're asking me or assisse. But since you asked me directly, no I don't work at a bank.
25
assisse... Step away from your computer. This site is severely warping your perception of reality.

Even though you say you're retired, I think a P/T job might do you some good. I'll put in a good word for you with the Branch Manager. Maybe you can take the teller job that I've been coveting all these years.
26
Technically I'm still on as an adviser, but my check has been cut and and my life is one of leisure. People get angry/aggro when they find this out.
27
^Let me guess... You're a Humility Adviser, right? There are no words in the English language to express how happy I am for you and your life of leisure (eye-roll).
28
? I'm proud of what I've accomplished. I wouldn't expect a "Chase Financial Telecommunications Associate" to understand. :)
29
Of course you're proud assisse, I could tell by your self-aggrandizing comment up there in the "Hopeless" rant.

The real problem is your lack of humility and blatant hypocrisy. You talking about how people are trapping themselves by playing a rigged game, etc. All that DIY/think big bullshit sounds like a cheesy infomercial.

No matter how hard you worked to get where you are, like it or not, there's at least a small element of luck. And as we all know, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. I know a fair amount of people who thought big, like you of course, and lost everything. I also know a lot of people who work their asses off and have virtually nothing to show for it (I can already envision you blaming them in your response).

Let me guess, you came from nothing and built your "empire" all by yourself, right? I read your "inspiring" commentary and I envision Sam Walton or one of the Koch brothers talking about how anybody could achieve their level of success if they just work hard enough. It would be amusing if it weren't so insulting and intellectually dishonest.

That said, I sure am glad you don't have to worry about making those bills every month. It clearly affords you the free time to inspire everyone here with your "can do" attitude. When you're not shitting on them of course.

Please wait...
