The "bunks in a bunker" plan? Overseen by the Penguin? Yeah, makes perfect sense.
2
There are already for-profit bunkers full of bunk beds for the less desirable all over this country. They are called privatized prisons.
3
MAYBE WE COULD PAY THE HOMELESS TO COMPETE IN FOOT RACES AND PROFIT OFF THEM THAT WAY
4
There will be capsule motels, they will still be overpriced and some asshole will still be getting rich off them.

You familiar with the term artificial scarcity?
5
Portland used to enforce the equal housing law. That's why there are cheap apartments next to mansions on Tabor. Alas this city is in the pocket of developers now. Have fun paying 3 bucks a square foot and trying to compete with San Fran douches.

the penguin remark was to satisfy the anonymity of the guilty requirement .... the penguin was in what public position? get it? cheap apartments in tabor? i dunno they must not be on c-list or be very scarce even so they would not compare to what i'm talking about...artificial scarcity? enlighten me jesus. capsule motel? there is already assholes profiting off that- they go by the name all over the paper lately (anonymity again, but they are the same company i referenced in my post)....the footrace is a good idea though- i bet they would love it too:)

On the other hand, why don't they just get jobs and join the rest of us taxpayers?

underneath you are desperately crying to step outside the box. What are the economic and social consequences of affordable and efficient living and inevitably sharing (a natural consequence of proximity)? Corporations capitalize on people not sharing-walk no further than to your television or local store to be brainwashed and sold on things you don't need. Also quality of life; Look at our landfills and obesity/ depression/ and divorce rate; our life style is a problem. A lack of sharing trains us to see a competitor not a neighbor and seek satisfaction in empty things- it kills community.

The "sharing economy" thing got me going again and the bunker housing is just one facet of that; a start. I leave you with the words of stephen king ;

"No community is more easily governed than that which rejects the very concept of community"
9
ps- what jobs? we're not a production economy anymore and capitalisim is just turned to brainwash and selling each other. we're a sharing economy.... get with the program.

I'm going to have a beer if anyone other than the foot race guy had a point you failed to make it. goodnight.

Please wait...
