If a homeless person poops in the park, and a cop slips and falls down and gets schmutzed in doody, is that considered assault by the homeless person?

There's a police precinct adjacent to O'bryant Square, in the Pittock Block building. If the park isn't safe, then what's that tell you? The idea of a public park is to provide a free place to be in the first place, and there is a place that the City sponsors, just a few blocks away, that provides free coffee and pastry. What could be more reasonable than that?

It's really not that bad. I was lunching down there 6 or 7 years ago and the yuppie-to-homeless ratio was like 2:1. These days it's probably 100:1.

It's obvious that they're pushing to "revitalize it" by turning it into a chi-chi wealthy person playground a la Director Park. This campaign just proves that gentrification efforts are already well underway.

Yes, in the future you'll be able to eat your $10 cheeseburger in peace while a private security officer scans the horizon for dirty people, pen & pad of park exclusion notices at the ready. Keep Portland Weird!
