I think it’s great that they are finally getting ready to clean this up, but I don’t see anywhere that they studied the effects of these proposed clean up operations on air quality/heavy metal levels in Portland. Some of the plans call for 24 hours a day/6 days a week dredging for over a decade, and all of those dredges, barges and dump trucks are going to be putting TONS of diesel emissions (cadmium/hex chrome) into the air. Plus all the extra traffic, idling cars, lifted bridges, etc. Why isn't EPA considering the effect of air toxics and CO2?
