Portland police officer Daniel Chastain was arrested by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office earlier today after getting in a crash in a city-owned car, according to the Portland Police Bureau.

Chastain was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants (alcohol), reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and first degree criminal mischief. He was booked in the Clackamas County jail and released, per the press release.

The 17-year PPB veteran and member of the Tactical Operations Division was off-duty, but "in an 'on-call' status" when he crashed the city-owned car, it says.
