It's been nearly a week and Beyonce's masterwork Lemonade is still at the forefront of my mind. In fact, I think everybody should be talking about it all the time (in a thoughtful way of course, shut the fuck up Piers Morgan). It's so rare that the subject of black women is addressed so publicly in an artistic, intelligent, and intentional way, and Lemonade is so dense with imagery and ideas, we need a LOT of people unpacking it. This week in the Mercury it's been discussed in this GREAT, SMART REVIEW by Jenni Moore, as well as One Day at a Time, and Everything as Fuck.

But if you're in the mood for an intelligent, funny breakdown of the subject, don't miss this week's episode of The Read (one of my fave podcasts). Hosted by a gay black man (Kid Fury) and a lesbian black woman (Chrissle), The Read is always an entertaining look at black pop culture and politics. BUT! Since these guys also happen to be Beyonce SUPER FANS, they really know their shit about Lemonade, and are able to discuss it with a lot of fun intelligence.

Lemonade fans, prick up your ears. You're really gonna wanna listen to this.
