Rachel Bloom
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator/writer/actor Rachel Bloom is delightfully funny and smart, and tonight she'll be bringing her stand-up to Revolution Hall. When I interviewed her ahead of Bridgetown, we talked a LOT about gender in the entertainment industry, and you can read our entire geeky conversation here. It may or may not include a reference to a USC study. What I'm getting at here is that Bloom is sharp as can be as well as hilarious. I can't wait to see her in person.

New Negroes
Every time I see a set from LA stand-up Baron Vaughn, he brings something completely new to it (this might have something to do with the fact that he's a classically trained actor as well as a comedian). You can't really go wrong with any of Vaughn's appearances, but this showcase, which he hosts and which highlights a strong lineup of African American stand-ups seems especially essential.
