God, I hope the whole state is covered in a marine layer of clouds and rain, and all of you fools don't see anything after paying $900 per night for a Motel 6.

You need special eclipse glasses to safely view the eclipse from Portland, or anywhere with less than 100% eclipse. It is extremely irresponsible for the Mercury to not include a warning to not look at the sun (even at maximum 99.4% eclipse) without eclipse glasses.
