I have avoided shows at the Roseland for years because of their security and I am a straight white male. They are awful and treat customers horribly for no reason. This doesn't surprise me at all, although I am frequently surprised that the place is still in business...

Gender neutral bathrooms. Label checkpoints as "checked by male" or "checked by female" and let patrons decide which they're most comfortable being checked by. Or maybe just have transgender security. I personally wouldn't care what gender checked me for guns/weapons or which pot I pissed in at a club, but overzealous security at any club would be a turn-off for me... here's hoping this Portland institution can get it's shit together and just f****** put on a show for Christ sake.
