This kind of incessant bumbling has become the hallmark of Portland's city government. I think this is where smart, young wonks go to become thick, stupid bureaucrats.

@horushound: Yes. Expected as part of all this is that the city will extend the renter relocation policy, as currently written, by six months, while it works up a more permanent law.

Who didn't see this coming as soon as the first "emergency" was declared? It's going to be a perpetual state of "emergency" in housing in Portland forever so Eudaly, Wheeler and Co. can keep the underlying justification for their shitty rent control policy while not doing a damn thing to solve the fundamental cause of high housing prices in Portland - a significant lack of housing supply relative to the demand.
