No one is on this persons side? My lazy lounging loser welfare neighbors chap my ass smoking and drinking all hours of the day and night for years. I'd love to get paid to do nothing, but I have at least an inkling of self worth so I keep my job and get up every day to help bankroll their pathetic existence.

These are not hard-working Americans laid off from their day jobs. They are professionally unemployed.

Unemployment is taxable income. It's given to those who lose their job through no fault of their own, though most states are a little stricter than ours. In the days of online job apps, you can pretty much look for work early in the morning and have the remainder of the day; it's not like you have to go around frowning and looking diligent.

It seems to be the root of all reactionary tea party-ish politics the thought that somebody else is skating by while you do all the hard work. That's just bitter envy. And if these specific people really are just skating by getting drunk etc, their bill will come due when they're unemployable.

And if you'd love free money, zombie, ask you neighbors how they did it. Maybe they were simply born rich, but not rich enough to live in a better neighborhood. Arguments like yours are held up to justify no one receiving assistance.

You can just turn them into the Employment Department if you really have such an issue with their loafing. If they really are fleecing the system they will get in trouble.

Seems in addition to loafing and drinking, internet commenting is a favored past-time of the chronically unemployed. We are all so lucky.

not everyone receiving unemployment is a fuckwit. this i, anonymous refers to a very specific type of unemployed who have a very specific type of entitlement that does indeed ruin it for everybody. i don't listen to idiots like lars larson (i actually really don't know/care who he is unless he figures out some sort of power scheme - though probably he's someone I'd like to kick in the mouth) and I wrote and termed all of this.
i'm merely calling bullshit on bullshitters with absolutely no prerogative in mind. all ya'll putting up the blanket defense on all unemployment recipients are clueless to the fact that some of the people you're putting up the fight for suck.
