Ever see High Fidelity? Remember Tim Robbins' character Ray? If so, you know exactly what I'm talking about: white people who think they are Asian!! Not literally, but they try to adopt all the aesthetic qualities and practices of what they think is typically Asian. They decorate their homes in Asian motifs, watch anime, date Asian girls, meditate, drink chai or green tea, take yoga, become Buddhist, learn a freakin' martial art (seriously, when was the last time you were in a fight?!!), and they stop eating meat and think tofu is an entire food group (because all Asians are vegetarian and eat healthy things?!!). Admiring Asian cultures, food, whatever, is one thing, but trying to completely adopt a new and "exotic" lifestyle is patronizing and goofy, especially if you are from some Midwestern hick town and listened to Bon Jovi back in the day. So seriously, put down the chopsticks, eat some meat once in a while, and for god sakes, don't wear dude kimonos to bed. Come on, grow a pair, you hippies!!!—Anonymous
