I have had 4 weenie dogs in my lifetime. They are a very loyal, possessive dog. But they are also very hardheaded and independent critters. You can train them to do stuff, unless they don't want to do whatever you are trying to get them to do. My weenie dog, when he sees a cat goes instantly into attack mode. He's the only dog I've owned that does this. But I love weenie dogs anyway.
