Hi,
I read your piece 5-14-14 I Love Television-The Nine Percent-
You are right on.
My mate is a fabulous writer and I am a terrific actress. We decided three years ago to create an uncompromised TV series. (We love TV too)
What finally came to be; Patrishaa’s Workshop 13-22 minute episodes about a world famous agoraphobic artist that allows a camera crew into her studio to observe her process – a scripted satire.
Knowing there is no shortage of channels, when we were producing Patrishaa’s Workshop we actually thought there would be room for us.
Not so, at least not yet. This isn’t sour grapes on our part but damn I know a certain segment of TV viewers would love this show. You are so right about
an a’ la cart approach to buying only what you watch.
The a’ la cart approach insures that eclectic content would get appreciated.
I think it’s just a matter of time before there will many TV shows produced by artists exclusively for art lovers and TV aficionados, just not yet.
Programming with the artist’s vision and nothing else, no product placement, laugh tracks, investors or network executives dictating because of funding and the shows will most likely be entertaining and interesting or maybe not time will tell.
Here is a link to Episode 4 “Sacrifices In The Name Of Art” http://vimeo.com/88032447 what do you think?
Is it worth 1.39?
Thanks for the listen and I am happy I discovered your work.
