The frustration over rising rents is understandable. For the life of me I can't see a good or easy solution. There's been a lot of shouting about the need for rent control. It would be nice if someone wrote a comprehensive article outlining the issues against the solutions. This would obviously have to include a hard look at rent control. But after Googling "Does rent control work" trying to shed more light on what I already consider to be a double edged sword, I can't find anything that suggests rent control solves anything. So Mercury, please, write a good article that exposes all the pros and cons of this debate. Perhaps you'll inspire the city to make a change. Or, maybe you'll inform the renters out there to be careful of what they ask for. Mattmo
BTW: I also got a no fault eviction letter (for New Years Eve), so I could have written eloquently on the other topic as well.
