Singer-songwriter, and son of that fellow who wrote "Mrs. Robinson," Harper Simon got some legendary Nashville musicians to perform on his debut album, including Lloyd Green, who played pedal steel on the Byrds' Sweetheart of the Rodeo, and Hargus "Pig" Robbins, who tickled the ivories for George Jones among others.

As great as they are, those guys are in their 70s, their days of groupies and blow are all but bedtime stories for their great grandchildren. At tonight's performance at Mississippi Studios you'll be able to catch Simon's equally impressive touring band, which includes the Beastie Boys' Money Mark and Russell Simins... not the co-founder of Def Jam, but the drummer for the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. Openers The Chapin Sisters will also provide backing vox during Simon's set.

It's the late show at The Miss, and things will get started around 10 p.m. And please, do not ask Simon where James Garfunkel is.
