While we've known the lineup for some time, the schedule for this year's Pickathon has been announced, which means it's time to start blocking out your blocks of time for the weekend of August 6-8. Some heartbreaking choices must be made, but the cool thing about Pickathon is that over the course of the three days, you'll pretty much have the chance to see nearly everything you want.
As far as the main stage goes, Friday night closes with a square dance with Foghorn Stringband, while Saturday closes with a set from Heartless Bastards and Sunday closes with Bonnie 'Prince' Billy. But as anyone who's been to Pickathon knows, the party lasts long after that, with sets in the barn and on the tiny outdoor stage continuing well past midnight. Not to mention the daylight sets out in the woods—yep, Bonnie 'Prince' Billy is going to be playing out there, as are the Cave Singers, Langhorne Slim, and more than a dozen other acts. Some other stuff that we're pretty excited about: A workshop with Billy Joe Shaver (AKA Crazypants McGee). A 1 am set under the stars with Black Prairie. Typhoon playing a pre-dinner set in the cozy barn. The Fruit Bats' Eric Johnson twiddling a banjo in the Workshop Barn. A noontime set from our favorite weirdos from Michigan, Breathe Owl Breathe, out in the woods, which is exactly where they belong.
