Some new album streams for headphonin'—click the jump to hear new albums from Dramady and Autistic Youth, plus Radiation City's Live at the Banana Stand, and local composer Mark Orton's score for the Alexander Payne film Nebraska.
Indie pop duo Dramady's second album, the very good Answer Only to the Sea, came out today on Cochon Records. CMJ has the full album stream, which I'll embed here via Soundcloud. Read more about Dramady in this week's issue of the Mercury. They play a record release show on Friday night at the (World Famous) Kenton Club.
Local punkers Autistic Youth released their third album Nonage today on Portland's Dirtnap Records. Punknews has the full album stream, and the record's available on Bandcamp now as well. Here's the embed:
Radiation City's Live from the Banana Stand also came out today via the folks at Banana Stand, who say it's one of the best they've recorded. Head over to Banana Stand to score it; here's the Bandcamp embed.
Local film composer Mark Orton recently scored Alexander Payne's new film Nebraska—it's really good, with Will Forte and Bob Odenkirk in sorta serious roles, although Bruce Dern is getting the lion's share of plaudits. Part of the score was recorded in Orton's studio here in Portland as well as Dead Aunt Thelma's Studio in Sellwood, although parts of it were produced out of town. Paste has a stream of the full soundtrack album—and thanks to a Soundcloud embed, so do we. The album comes out November 19 on Milan Records.
