Art and Beer: The Drunken Cobbler

Recommended

Portland Art Museum (map) Southwest
Fri., June 13, 6 p.m. 2014

$10-12

Local breweries (think Breakside, Humble, and Laurelwood) were invited to create a beer inspired by The Drunken Cobbler, an 18th-century painting by French artist Jean-Baptiste Greuze. Visitors will learn about the painting itself, art conservation efforts, the making of the beers available to drink, and the parallels between preserving art and brewing beer. Oh, and drinking beer—that'll happen, too.
