Portland duo Darkswoon features frontwoman Jana Cushman's dreamy, electric guitar stylings over seamless lo-fi electronics. Their music sounds like outtakes from Robert Smith's dreams, overlaid with an introspective mist of otherworldly harmonies. Darkswoon's tender melodies are braced by gritty, evolving soundscapes that tell a mysterious story of longing and pain. I had the pleasure of hearing several tracks off their new album, which the band will debut at this show, and the duo's progression from their earlier work is absolutely fantastic.
