It's been pleasant to see and hear Death from Above 1979 slowly return from the wilderness that followed their first, cultishly-beloved album over a decade ago. 2014's long-awaited LP, The Physical World, is a little more poppy, sure. But it's still jammed with the same turgid bass lines, clatter, and howls that define the duo's gristly sound. DENIS C. THERIAULT
