Three years ago, Ditch Tiger was a bellwether for Boise's then-flourishing DIY scene—the group released one LP of catchy, angular emo before quietly disbanding. While most of that band's members have since relocated to Portland, bassist Cameron Brizzee is holding down the fort with new project Western Daughter, a group making waves in Boise and beyond. The band's debut EP, As the Sun Went Down, is a staggering collection of country-flecked punk rock, in the grand songwriting tradition of Ryan Adams and Will Sheff.
