In May, tragedy struck one of Portland's most cherished voices. Walt Curtis lost his home and his unpublished writing in the horrible fire that consumed the Great Northwest Bookstore. Now, in an initiative to rebuild Curtis' life, Mayor Sam Adams has declared July 1-7 as Walt Curtis Week, with several benefits to help pick up the pieces. Tonight at Berbati's literary gods will be on hand to read, perform, and perhaps even sing, all to benefit a friend. Featured readers include Poet Laureate Paulann Petersen, Richard Moore (hence tonight's name), Monica Drake, Matt Love, and many more.
