Powell's City of Books

Three authors will share dark holiday tales and sign copies of their recent works. Sad Stories of the Death of Kings is Barry Gifford's latest about a teen boy growing up on the rough streets of 1960s Chicago without a dad (read our review here). A Jockey's Christmas, Willy Vlautin's spoken-word CD, spends Christmas with a has-been jockey, and Jim Nisbet's novel A Moment of Doubt follows a fledgling hacker as he gets in over his head.
