Take to the Ship

Powell's City of Books (map) Downtown
Fri., Feb. 11, 5 p.m. 2011

Herman Melville’s badass epic Moby-Dick is a hell of a book—but it’s also nine million pages long. But now you have a chance to experience the 1851 classic without having to read a single word! Take to the Ship—a 24-hour-long, round-the-clock, nonstop public reading of Moby-Dick—kicks off tonight at Powell’s before migrating to a yet-to-be-disclosed location. Show up, listen, and realize why your English teacher wouldn’t shut up about how cool this book is. (P.S. I’m going to be reading Chapter 14! IT WILL BE THRILLING!) ERIK HENRIKSEN
