In Site is a new project by Portland artist Karl Burkheimer. Put on by Disjecta's curator-in-residence Jenene Nagy, the show is a giant sculptural installation shaped like a ramp or plank, which occupies nearly the entire Disjecta space. The show is an exercise in viewership, as the audience grapples with how to understand the object and associations with the work. Is it architecture? An artifact from an ancient ritual? Just an object?
