Suddenly: Where We Live Now

Recommended

Reed College, Cooley Gallery (map) Southeast
Tuesdays-Sundays. Continues through Oct. 5 2008

It’s nearly impossible to articulate everything that’s happening in Suddenly. Encompassing exhibitions at the Cooley Gallery and Milepost 5, a walking tour of 2008 Whitney Biennial artist Fritz Haeg’s site-specific “Animal Estates,” and an intriguingly titled “Psychedelic Sprawl” happening on Reed’s campus later this month, Suddenly is an ambitious, inclusive examination of the places we inhabit and what they mean. And contrary to its name, organizers Stephanie Snyder and Matthew Stadler hardly view this project as momentary or finite; they boldly claim the series’ events will continue to “take place at various locations across the world indefinitely into the future.”
